Q: When do time off accruals occur?

A: When time off accruals will occur depends on the frequency type chosen when creating the accrual rule:

We have three accrual options: Yearly, Per Pay Period, and Hours Worked.

  • Yearly you will be able to have Time Off accrue on a particular date for all employees or you can set an accrual date on an individual basis. This is a great option if you have employees that accrue Time Off on an anniversary or hire date.

  • If you choose Per Pay Period, then Time Off will accrue at the end of a pay period and only at that time.

  • If you choose Hours Worked, Time Off will accrue between 1 and 5 days after the pay period closes and only at that time. You can decide how many days after the pay period closes that accruals will take place.

Please Note: For the Hours Worked frequency type, if time is added to an employee's time card after the pay period has closed it will not be included in the accruals.
