Safeguards Against GPS Spoofing

More information regarding GPS Spoofing safeguard

GPS spoofing, also known as GPS simulation, refers to the practice of manipulating or tricking a GPS receiver by broadcasting false GPS signals. Essentially, it misleads the GPS receiver into believing it is located somewhere it is not, causing the device to provide inaccurate location data.

We understand that it's important for the GPS data logged for your employees to be accurate and to truly reflect where they are physically located over the course of their shift. For this reason, we have created safeguards to help prevent GPS spoofing.

When the GPS feature is enabled, we request the user's device's GPS position. If a user has Mock Locations enabled and attempts to punch in on an Android device, they will receive a message that they must disable Mock Locations before punching in.

If you'd like to disable the safeguard against GPS spoofing on your account, please contact our support team.
