GPS spoofing, also known as GPS simulation, refers to the practice of manipulating or tricking a GPS receiver by broadcasting false GPS signals. Essentially, it misleads the GPS receiver into believing it is located somewhere it is not, resulting in the device providing inaccurate location data.

We understand that it's important that the GPS data logged for your employees is accurate and truly reflects where your employees are physically located over the course of their shift. For this reason, we have created safeguards to help prevent GPS spoofing.

When the GPS feature is enabled, we request a GPS position from the user's device. If a user has Mock Locations enabled and attempts to punch in from an Android device, they will receive a message that they must disable Mock Locations first to punch time.

If you'd like to disable the safeguard against GPS spoofing on your account, please get in touch with our support team.
