Overview: When starting a business with employees in Maryland, you must register for State Income Tax Withholding through the Comptroller of Maryland and Unemployment Insurance (UI) Tax through the Maryland Department of Labor. Both registrations are completed in a single combined application, which issues you a Central Registration Number (CRN) and Employer Account Number.
