How to Assign a Color to a Shift—Manager (Web/App)

Overview: Managers can assign or change colors for shifts on the Buddy Punch website or mobile app, using up to 24 vibrant options to make schedules easier to organize and read at a glance.

Assign a Color to a Shift (Web)

1. When you're creating a shift, as further detailed here, you'll find a Color dropdown with 24 different color options:

2. Once a shift is added, it will show up on the schedule outlined in the chosen color. This indicates the shift is in draft and needs to be published by clicking Publish Shifts in the top right corner:

3. When the shifts are published and available to employees when punching in, they will be solid/filled in with the chosen color:


Change a Shift Color (Web)

1. To change a shift color, click on the shift you want to update:

2. Make your new selection using the Color dropdown and Save when done:

3. If the shift is not part of a repeating series, you'll be taken back to the schedule immediately.

If the shift is part of a repeating series, you'll be asked to update either This shift or This and following shifts.

Save your selection when done:

4. Back on the schedule, you'll see the shift with its new color in draft. Click Publish Shifts in the top right corner to make it available to the worker:
