Push notifications look like SMS text messages and mobile alerts. When push notifications are enabled, the Buddy Punch app can send a push notification any time; your users don’t have to be in the app or using their devices to receive them.

When a user receives a push notification, the Buddy Punch icon will show up on their mobile device in the notification area. Just as with any other application that you allow notifications for, by expanding the notification area you can view the content of the notification.

You can click on the notification to view it in its entirety in the Buddy Punch app:

Push notifications can be sent to users to remind them to punch out, let them know they're late for a shift or if an employee is reaching overtime. We have several alerts and reminders available that can be sent as a push notification. Just go to Settings --> Alerts & Reminders to find an option that meets your business needs.
