Answer: To help protect your account and sensitive data, Buddy Punch includes an automatic logout feature. This works similarly to security measures used by banking and financial apps.

Important: The automatic log-out feature is built in for security and isn’t customizable at this time.

Automatic Log Out — Website

Buddy Punch has an automatic logout feature for security—similar to what you’d see on a banking site.

  • Employees will see a pop-up after 5 minutes of inactivity asking if they want to stay logged in or log out. If there’s no response, the system will log them out automatically.

  • Managers are logged out after 30 minutes of inactivity.

  • Administrators are logged out after 60 minutes of inactivity.

As long as you're actively using Buddy Punch within the allowed time, you won’t see the pop-up or be logged out.

Automatic Log Out — Mobile App

If you're using the mobile app and notice that you're being logged out, it’s likely due to built-in security features.

  • Locked Device: If you lock your phone or tablet while the app is open and leave the device locked for a prolonged period of time, you'll be logged out automatically for security reasons.

  • App Running in the Background: If you leave the app running in the background for a while, it will also log you out after a set amount of time.

These measures help protect your account and data. Just log back in to continue using the app!
