Answer: Buddy Punch may automatically log you out after a period of inactivity. This is a built-in security feature designed to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access if you leave your device unattended.
Important! The automatic log-out feature is built in for security and isn’t customizable at this time.
Automatic Log Out (Web)
Buddy Punch has an automatic logout feature for security—similar to what you’d see on a banking site.
Employees will see a pop-up after 5 minutes of inactivity asking if they want to stay logged in or log out. If there’s no response, the system will log them out automatically.
Managers are logged out after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Administrators are logged out after 60 minutes of inactivity.
As long as you're actively using Buddy Punch within the allowed time, you won’t see the pop-up or be logged out.
Automatic Log Out (App)
If you're using the mobile app and notice that you're being logged out, it’s likely due to built-in security features.
Locked Device: If you lock your phone or tablet while the app is open and leave the device locked for a prolonged period of time, you may be logged out automatically for security reasons.
App Running in the Background: If you leave the app running in the background for a while, it may also log you out after a set amount of time.
These measures help protect your account and data. Just log back in to continue using the app!
