Overview: When starting a business with employees in Florida, you must register for the Reemployment Tax, also known as the State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) Tax. Florida does not impose a state income tax, so this is the primary payroll-related registration for employers.

Registration Steps
Option 1: Register Online
Go to the Florida Business Tax Application: https://taxapps.floridarevenue.com/taxregistration
Click “Create New User Profile"
Enter your username, email address, and password
Complete and submit the online registration form
Once approved, you will be issued a Florida Reemployment Tax Account Number.
Option 2: Register by Mail or In Person
Download and complete Form DR-1 – Florida Business Tax Application
Submit the form:
In-person at a local Florida Revenue Service Center
Or by mail to the address listed on the form instructions
Once your business is registered, you will receive your Florida Reemployment Tax Number.
