Overview: When starting a business with employees in Florida, you must register for the Reemployment Tax, also known as the State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) Tax. Florida does not impose a state income tax, so this is the primary payroll-related registration for employers.

Registration Steps

Option 1: Register Online

  1. Go to the Florida Business Tax Application: https://taxapps.floridarevenue.com/taxregistration

  2. Click “Create New User Profile"

  3. Enter your username, email address, and password

  4. Complete and submit the online registration form

Once approved, you will be issued a Florida Reemployment Tax Account Number.

Option 2: Register by Mail or In Person

  1. Submit the form:

Once your business is registered, you will receive your Florida Reemployment Tax Number.
