Georgia State Income Withholding Tax

Tax Agency: Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR)

Registration Steps

  1. Visit the Georgia Tax Center

  2. Click “Register a New Georgia Business”

  3. Complete the application to register for a Withholding Tax Account

  4. Submit the form online

Processing Time: Within 15 minutes, you will receive an email with your:

  • Withholding Tax Account Number

  • Deposit frequency

Account Format

  • Format: #######-XX

    • (Seven digits followed by two letters)

Update your Buddy Punch account with your Georgia Withholding Tax Account Number.


Georgia State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) Tax

Tax Agency: Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL)

Registration Steps

Option 1: Online (Recommended)

  1. Complete the registration application

  1. Once submitted, you’ll be issued your SUI Account Number

Option 2: Paper Application

  • Complete electronically and print

  • Submit by mail

Paper processing time: Up to 30 days. Account details are mailed to the business address on record.

Account Format

  • Format: ######-##

    • (Eight-digit number)

Final Step

Once both accounts are issued, update your Buddy Punch Payroll account with:

  • Georgia Withholding Tax Account Number

  • Georgia SUI Account Number

These are required for accurate payroll tax filings in Georgia.
