Punch Blocked Alert

Step-by-step instructions covering how to create and assign a Punch Blocked Alert from the Buddy Punch website as an Administrator.

Overview: The Punch Blocked Alert in Buddy Punch allows you to configure notifications for Managers or Administrators when an employee's punch attempt is blocked. These alerts can be sent via email, push notification, or both, helping you stay informed about failed employee punches.

Important! The Punch Blocked Alert can only trigger on attempted punches that fail as a result of specific Settings: Geofence, Punch Limiting Rule, IP Address Lock, or Device Lock. If the punch fails for any other reason (i.e punches from mobile devices aren't allowed), the employee will still be informed why the punch failed, but no notification will be sent to Managers or Admins.

FAQs

Q: Does the Punch Blocked Alert notify me if an employee is encountering trouble signing into Buddy Punch?

A: The only time you will be notified of an employee attempting to sign in is if the Alert is set to trigger for a Device Lock error, since Device Locks prevent employees from using other devices to sign in. If the employee encounters an error due to their username/password being incorrect, or any other sign-in error, you will not be notified.

Q: Why is it that this alert can only be sent out to Admins and Managers but not Employees?

A: Since the employee is already notified by an error message when they encounter an issue with attempting to punch due to one of the aforementioned settings, there is no option to notify them again via email or push notification.
