How to Approve or Deny Pending Time Off—Administrator (Web)

Step-by-step instructions on how to approve or deny time off as an Administrator from our website.

Overview: Administrators can approve or deny time off for any employee on the account from several areas on the Buddy Punch website.

Instructions:


Approve/Deny Time Off—Dashboard

1. There are several different ways to take action on time off. The first is directly from the dashboard under the Pending Approval ---> Time Off section on your Dashboard.

Click Approve to immediately approve the time off or click View if you want to review the request in more detail:

2. If you choose to View, you'll be taken to the Time Off Calendar, where you can check the box next to the time off in question and then either Approve or Deny the time off request. You can also choose to Delete:

1. Start by clicking Time Off in the top navigation:

2. From the Month view, you can click on the time off you want to approve or deny:

3. On the Edit Time Off page, you can Approve or Deny the request. You can make adjustments to the Time Off Type, Hours, and Note before approving:

4. Alternatively, from the List view, you can check the box next to the time off that's pending approval and then choose to Approve or Deny:

1. Start by clicking Time Cards in the top navigation followed by View All:

2. Click View next to the name of the employee whose time off you want to approve or deny:

3. Once on their time card, you can quickly approve a request by choosing the Approve button:

4. Or Edit the request instead to have access to both Approve and Deny:


FAQ

Q: Why don't I see the option to delete time off?

A: To be able to delete time off, the "Shifts and Time Off can be Deleted" option must be enabled by an Administrator under Settings --> Account Settings. More information here.
