How to Delete Time Off—Administrator (Web)

Step-by-step instructions on how to delete time off as an Administrator from the Buddy Punch website.

Overview: Administrators can delete time off for any employee from the Buddy Punch website.


Enable Time Off Delete Option

1. To enable the ability to delete time off, start by visiting the Settings --> Account Settings page:

2. Check the box next to "Shifts and Time Off can be Deleted" and Save when done:


Delete Time Off (Time Card)

1. To delete time off directly from a time card, start by clicking Timecards in the top navigation followed by View All:

2. Then select View next to the name of the employee whose time off you want to delete:

3. Once on their time card, you can either click the trash can/delete option to the far right of the time off or click the Edit option:

4. If you chose to Edit the time off, you can remove it by clicking Delete:

5. With either delete option, you'll be asked to confirm the process by choosing Delete again:

6. Time off that's been deleted can be viewed in the Deleted Time Report.


Delete Time Off (Time Off Calendar)

1. To delete time off from the time off calendar, start by clicking Timecards in the top navigation followed by Time Off Calendar:

2. From there you can click on the time off entry you want to remove:

3. And then click the Delete button:

4. You'll be asked to confirm the process by choosing Delete again:

5. You can also delete time off in time off calendar List view by checking the box next to the time off you want to delete and then choosing the Delete button:

6. Time off that's been deleted can be viewed in the Deleted Time Report.


FAQ

Q: Why is the option to delete time off greyed out?

A: If the option to delete time off is greyed out it's because the time card it falls under is locked, closed, has been submitted for approval/is approving, or was originated from the company calendar.
