How to Switch to the Front-Facing Camera for Webcam or QR Codes—Employee (App)

Overview: The Buddy Punch app allows you to switch between the front-facing and rear cameras, giving you flexibility for QR code scanning or taking pictures. This guide explains how to adjust the camera settings on both Android and iOS devices to suit your needs.

Instructions:


Switch Android Camera

For Username/Password and PIN:

If punching in/out using the username/password or PIN options, the webcam direction (Front-facing or back-facing) will hold the last option used. You're not able to choose a preference.

For QR Codes:

If punching in/out using the QR Code option, you can specify if the front-facing camera should be used all the time.

1. Start by logging in to the Buddy Punch app. (Left image below)

2. Once logged in, choose the 3 dashed menu in the top left-hand corner. (Middle image below)

3. From the menu, choose the Settings option at the bottom. (Right image below)

4. Click the option next to Prefer front camera for QR Code. (Left image below)

5. It will turn green if it's been correctly enabled. (Right image below)


Switch iOS Camera

For Username/Password, PIN and QR Codes:

1. Start by logging in to the Buddy Punch app. (Left image below)

2. Once logged in, choose the 3 dashed menu in the top left-hand corner. (Middle image below)

3. From the menu, choose the Settings option at the bottom. (Right image below)

4. Click the option next to Prefer front camera for QR Code. (Left image below)

5. It will turn green if it's been correctly enabled. (Right image below)
