Anniversary Reminder

Step-by-step instructions covering how to create and assign an Anniversary Reminder from the Buddy Punch website as an Administrator.

Overview: The Anniversary Reminder allows you to get notified when it's an employee's anniversary as specified in their profile. The reminder can be sent to an Employee, Manager, or Administrator via email, push notification, or both.

Common Use Cases: This reminder is commonly used to ensure that any work anniversary-related Time Off Accruals and/or benefits provided outside the Buddy Punch system can be updated and applied accordingly, as well as serving as a quick note in observation/celebration of these special days.

Instructions:​


Set a Hire/Anniversary Date

1. First, click the Employees tab from the top navigation:

2. Next, click View next to an Employee's name to enter their Employee Profile:

3. From the Employee Profile, click Edit in the top right-hand corner:

4. Enter a Hire Date within the appropriate field and click Save:

Note: You can always come back to this page within employees' profiles at any time to edit Hire Dates as needed.


Create an Anniversary Reminder

1. Once a Hire Date has been set within the employee profile as outlined here, navigate to the Settings --> Alerts & Reminders page:

2. Then click + Add a New Alert/Reminder:

3. You'll then be able to specify the:

  • Reminder Name—This will be in the message to employees.

  • Reminder Type—Anniversary Reminder

Important! You need to set the Hire Date in the employee profile for this reminder to trigger. More information here.

4. You'll then want to choose who the message should be sent to and if it should be sent via email, push notification, or both. Assign the proper employees and Save once done:

5. If you need to edit or delete the reminder, you can do so by choosing the Edit or Delete buttons:

FAQ

Q: Can Administrator Anniversaries be tracked?

A: No, anniversaries cannot be tracked for administrators, which are free accounts. They'd need to have an employee or manager account to track and be reminded about their anniversary.

Q: Can other employees or coworkers see or be reminded of staff anniversaries?

A: No, at this time, reminders can only be configured to send out to the employee having the anniversary, the employee's manager(s), and/or the admin(s). You are welcome to forward any reminder to your team that you wish and/or use the In-App Messaging.

Q: Can anniversaries be added to the Schedule or Company Calendar?

A: No, at this time, only reminders are triggered for anniversaries.
