Overview: Administrators can delete unused Locations, Departments, or Positions from the Buddy Punch website or mobile app. Deleting helps keep your account organized and prevents old or unused codes from appearing in schedules, punches, or reports.
Important! Only Administrators can delete an unused Location, Department, or Position.
Instructions:
Delete a Location, Department, or Position (Web)
1. To delete an unused Location, Department, or Position code, start by clicking Settings and clicking either Locations, Department Codes, or Positions:
2. Then click Edit next to the Location, Department, or Position you want to delete:
3. If the Location, Department, or Position is unused, you will see and be able to click the Delete option in the top right-hand corner.
Important: If you don't see the option to delete, the Location, Department, or Position in question has likely been applied to an employee's time card, is on a published shift, or is assigned to a geofence.
4. After clicking Delete, you'll be asked to confirm the deletion by choosing Yes, I understand:

1. Start by logging into the Buddy Punch app and clicking the 3-dashed menu in the top left-hand corner. (Left image below)
2. And then click Settings. (Middle image below)
3. From here, you can click either Locations, Department Codes, or Positions. (Right image below)
4. Click the Location, Department, or Position you want to delete. (Left image below)
5. And then click Delete. (Middle image below)
6. You'll be asked to confirm the deletion process by clicking Yes. (Right image below)
Important: If you don't see the option to delete, the Location, Department, or Position in question has likely been applied to an employee's time card, is on a published shift, or is assigned to a geofence.
From the Buddy Punch website, you can verify if the Location, Department, or Position has been used on a punch by running one of our reports listed here, if the code is on a shift by reviewing schedules here, or if it's assigned to a geofence here.
