Department Codes, or job codes, are labels for time. You can create as many Department Codes as needed, assign them to employees, and then employees can punch in and out of these codes. You can also assign them to shifts if scheduling is enabled. Your reports will reflect time put to each code.
Setting Up Department Codes
1. To create and assign Department Codes you will first want to go to Settings in the top navigation followed by Department Codes as shown below:
2. Once on the Department Code page you will want to select the +Add a New Department Code button:

On the add new department code page, you will be able to enter the name of the department code (this will be what employees see when they punch in, what will be assigned to their shifts, and what will show up on your reports), enter a payroll code if using ADP Workforce Now and assign the appropriate employees.
4. Save once done.
Where do Department Codes show up?
As mentioned Department Codes will be available to employees when they punch in and show on up their assigned shifts.
Department Codes will also be visible on the employees time card as well as on your reports.
