Overview: Administrators can add, edit, or delete punches for all workers from the Buddy Punch website and mobile app. They do not require special permissions as they have full permissions by default.

Add a Punch (Web)
1. To add a punch, start by clicking Time Cards in the top navigation, followed by View All:
2. Choose a pay period from the dropdown and then click View next to an employee's name to access their timecard:
3. Once on the employee time card, you can click the Add New dropdown followed by Punch:
4. You can then specify the:
Punch In Date/Time
Punch Out Date/Time (Tip: If you're adding a punch for the current day and want an employee to punch out on their own, you can leave this blank)
Shift (If scheduling is enabled)
Location, Department, or Position (if using them)
And add a Note if needed.
After you've entered the necessary details, you can Save Changes:
Important! If an employee forgets to punch in for the day you can leave the punch out time blank, allowing the employee to punch out on their own.
5. You'll then be taken back to the employee's time card, where you can view newly added punch information:
Edit a Punch (Web)
1. To edit a punch, start by visiting the time card for the employee in question and select Edit next to the punch you want to edit:
2. You'll receive a pop-up where you can edit the punch as needed and Save Changes when done:
Delete a Punch (Web)
1. To delete a punch, start by visiting the time card for the employee in question. Once there, each set of punches will have the option to Delete to the far right, as noted by a small trash can icon.
The icon will be highlighted in red when hovering over it:
Important! Depending on your screen size, you may need to scroll to the right to view the trash can/delete icon. The scroll bar can be found at the bottom of the time card, as shown here.
2. If the trash can icon is grayed out and not clickable, you need to enable the ability to delete by going to Settings --> Account Settings, check the box next to Shifts and Time Off can be Deleted, and Save once done:
3. After clicking the trash can icon to delete, you'll receive a warning message reminding you that the punch can't be restored once deleted. Click Delete to confirm the deletion:
4. If ever you need to review punch information that's been deleted, you can use our Deleted Time Report, which can be found under Reports in the top navigation. The report will let you know who deleted what and when.

1. Start by selecting Time Cards in the bottom navigation. (Left image below)
2. On the Time Cards page, choose the pay period you want to view and then the employee. (Middle image below)
3. Once on their time card, click the plus ( + ) button in the top right-hand corner, followed by Add Punch. (Right image below)
4. Enter all required punch details, a note if needed, and Save when done. (Left image below)
5. You'll then be taken back to the employee's time card, where you can view the newly added punch. (Right image below)
Edit a Punch (App)
1. Start by selecting Time Cards in the bottom navigation (Left image below)
2. From the Time Cards page, choose the pay period you want to view and then the employee. (Middle image below)
3. Once on the Time Card page, click the punch you want to edit. (Right image below)
4. On the Punch Details page, you can choose to edit either Punch In or Punch Out. (Left image below)
5. Edit the punch time, add a note if needed, and Save when done. (Middle image below)
6. You'll then be taken back to the employee's Punch Detail page, where you can see the new change. (Right image below).
Delete a Punch (App)
The ability to delete punches is currently only available on a web browser or a mobile web browser. More information on how to delete from our website can be found here.

Q: I'm an Administrator, but I'm not seeing edit or delete options. How do I fix this?
A: If you're an Administrator, but aren't seeing the edit or delete options, then you may be logged in to an employee or manager account. Please confirm you're in the correct account.
