How to Get Notified if Multiple Shifts Overlap When Publishing

Overview: When using scheduling, you may encounter situations where multiple or overlapping worker shifts occur. In these cases, it is essential to notify Managers and Administrators so that they can take the necessary action.


Enable Multiple/Overlapping Shift Notifications

1. To enable the Multiple Shift Overlap option, start by visiting the Settings --> Scheduling page:

2. Scroll down to the find the Multiple Shift Overlap option:

3. The option will default to Do Nothing, but can be changed to:

  • Allow but Notify—An alert will be displayed, but publishing will still be allowed.

  • Block—An alert will be sent, and publishing will not be allowed.

4. Save your selection when done.


Allow but Notify View

Below is an example of what the Allow but Notify message would look like if multiple overlapping shifts are encountered:

You can proceed with publishing by clicking Continue anyway. You can also click on an employee's name in the error message to quickly filter down by them.


Block View

Below is an example of what the Block message would look like if multiple overlapping shifts are encountered:

Click OK to return to the schedule and make changes, or click on an employee's name in the error message to quickly filter by them.
